Founded in 1901 with only seven golf clubs, the Minnesota Golf Association's membership has grown to more than 400 clubs and 82,000 individual members throughout the state. Our mission is to uphold and promote the game of golf and its values for all golfers in Minnesota.
PGA Section Offices oversee the 41 geographic regions throughout the United States and provide the grass-roots network necessary to accomplish direct communications with the nation's 25 million amateur golfers and with the PGA's 27,000 members. In addition, each Section conducts regional qualifying tournaments for amateur events such as the PGA Team Championship and the Junior PGA Championship, as well as sponsor junior clinics.
Developed in 1981 at the request of state and regional golf associations, the USGA’s GHIN service has grown to become the largest handicap computation provider in the world, serving more than 2.1 million golfers. GHIN is offered exclusively through state and regional golf associations, federations and unions as a service for their member clubs to assist in meeting the policies of the USGA Handicap System™, which enables all golfers to compete on a relatively equal basis.
